Welcome to the Scholar Archive!
I'm using this page to put all my stuff from the last few years.
Poke around and let me know if you have any questions...
From the 2020-2021 School Year (links not live)...
Government, Economics, World & US History, and Geography
From the 2019-2020 School Year...
Ninth Grade, Tenth Grade, Eleventh Grade, Electives
From the 2018-2019 School Year...
I was a Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) at PHS!
My office is in the College & Career Center in the High School rather than a classroom in the Middle School.
I'm working on a few projects for La Honda-Pescadero Unified School District...
1. Website Development - upgrading all websites (District, PM/HS, PES, & LHE) to a new platform: Blackboard. We went live on September 28th, check it out: https://www.lhpusd.com/ Feedback appreciated!
UPDATE: Websites still rockin' and more training for teachers at the beginning of next year.
2. Grant Writing - specifically the "SSP RFA" (Specialized Secondary Program Request for Application) and ASES After School Coding. They are due at the CDE in early November. More soon...
UPDATE: Superbad news! Not only did we not get either the SSP or After School Coding grants, but I also wrote a Midpen "Sprouts" grant which we did not get! :( However, on a lark I wrote a Center for Latin American Studies Stanford Library Access Grant which we did get! Took a great field trip in May and plan to take another at the beginning of 2019-20!
3. Revising the Courses of Study (Course Catalog) for the High School - this involves rewriting and digitizing all the courses taught at PHS.
UPDATE: As it turns out, our A-G list was empty and getting the teachers to rewrite their syllabi proved difficult. But the process taught me about what's possible, thus we adopted Big History and some UCCI courses!
4. Community Service Learning Coordinator - Revising the program to offer more project-based learning opportunities for Service Credit. Check it out here!
UPDATE: A few changes to the policies, more opportunities for students. Cool? Service Learning on the horizon.
5. Online Learning Coordinator - currently monitoring students taking online classes, but I hope to consolidate all the internet-based, online-learning experiences students have in LHPUSD. Just getting started.
UPDATE: Hopefully, PHS will adopt the Scout at UC program for "continuation," or at least reconsider Edgenuity and Cyber High.
So far, so good. I'm excited to create a useful educational infrastructure for the future!
For posterity's sake...
During the 2017 -2018 School Year, I taught the following subjects:

Block 5: 7th Grade Social Studies - Medieval & Modern Times

Blasts from the past...
